2020 will go down as a watershed year for many unfortunate reasons, and while it may seem trivial in comparison, it’s also the year I finally moved out of my rent-controlled 4 bedroom with rowdy roommates, and into my own bachelor pad. A few weeks in, and I’m finally adjusting to the sweet sound of solitude. This also means I’ve been overdosing on Postmates, so much so that I’m actually craving a home-cooked meal. But Schlepping to Bed Bath and Beyond (my mom’s been siphoning off 20% coupons for this exact moment the last 3 years) sounds like my worst nightmare.
Enter Our Place, who conveniently targeted me with their ‘Dinner for 4’ bundle: “Everything you need to sit down for a nice meal with the people you love.” Or in my case, everything you need to cook for one while helping your kitchen cabinets avoid ghost-town-bachelor-pad vibes. Below are our thoughts on the Our Place Bundle.

The Queen Bee of the Bundle, Our Place’s Always Pan is destined to be your new best friend in the kitchen. It’s as if a mad scientist did a focus group with millennial insta-inspired home cooks and birthed this creation from the heavens. The tide of good press Our Place has gotten from the likes of Good Morning America, The Today Show, and Oprah’s Favorite Things sold me on the Always Pan. I’ve used it for everything -- sautéing, frying, steaming, boiling -- and I swear it does it all flawlessly.
My favorite feature is the steamer basket that sits just high enough for perfectly steamed dumplings or veggies, yet deep enough for the perfect pasta strain. As for cleanup -- scrubbing the crust off my other frying pans was the bane of my existence. The Always Pan's non-toxic, non-stick ceramic coating makes cleaning dishes feel like a vacation!
I truly love these stackable Drinking Glasses. The hand-blown tumblers help avoid cabinet clutter while also packing a serious aesthetic punch. I fell immediately for the retro ‘Sunset’ colorway, but they also come in beautiful ‘Dusk’ or ‘Dawn,’ if those better suit your fancy. They come in sets of 4, and I’m very close to ordering another set to have a few glasses handy in between dishwasher cycles. With 61 ‘5 star’ reviews on the glasses alone, these are sure to be a crowd-pleaser at your next gathering.
I picked the ‘Steam’ color of these dinner plates, and I love the clean look that reminds me of my favorite sushi spot. The set of 4 easy-stacking plates have a subtle ‘lip’ that helps avoid messes, and they’re dishwasher and microwave safe for easy clean-up and reheat needs. And while they were slightly smaller than my previous dishware, because of the innovative design, I noticed these have more usable surface area for food. Made from durable porcelain, the plates have a nice weight to them. Each dish is hand-painted to finish for a nice touch of craftsmanship.
The Our Place Bundle rounds out with this set of 4 stackable side bowls. Perfect for your cereal or ice cream indulgences, as well as for a starter salad or rice bowl for lunch. They come in matching colorways to the plates, including Spice, Steam, and Char. Microwave and dishwasher safe is a nice plus, though they will get hot in the microwave—be sure to handle with care when removing. And while I noticed not every single bowl looks exactly the same, I found that to be a nice touch, making them feel handmade and unique.
And there you have it. The Our Place Bundle was the perfect addition to my apartment, conveniently turning my bachelor pad into an entertainer’s dream with the click of a button.
